Robert Palmer was born on this day 76 years ago. When I was a kid, my entire family was obsessed with the Riptide album. I have some very fond memories of my father cranking the volume up whenever he played the album — and of all of us either singing or dancing along. I also loved The Power Station, the supergroup that featured former Chic drummer Tony Thompson, and Duran Duran‘s John Taylor and Andy Taylor.
