Throwback: Happy 85th Birthday, David Ruffin!

The Temptations‘ former lead singer David Ruffin was born on this day 85 years ago. Ruffin was the legendary soul act’s lead singer from 1963-1968, which may arguably be the soul act’s most legendary, most commercially successful and pioneering period. 

He also had an impressive solo career — with some equally great songs for a period of time.

We lost David over 30 years ago. But his musical legacy lives on forever. So let’s celebrate Ruffin’s life and music today, huh?
