New Orleans‘ greatest sons, the legendary singer/songwriter, pianist, composer and producer Allen Toussaint was born 87 years ago today. When you think of New Orleans and music, there are a handful of people that immediately come to mind, Louis Armstrong, Dr. John, and Allen Toussaint.
His hometown renamed Robert E. Lee Blvd. to Allen Toussaint Blvd. It’s a fitting tribute to someone, who gave the world joy and beauty –and was one of the city’s greatest artists to ever live. Also, fuck that old racist, traitor.
