- Chaka Khan celebrated her 70th — 70th! — birthday on March 23
- De La Soul‘s Pacemaster Mase, a.k.a. Maseo, a.k.a. Vincent Mason celebrated his 53rd birthday on March 25

Mariah Carey celebrates her 54th birthday today. Carey is one of the best-selling artists ever, selling over 220 million records across the globe. She also holds the record for most Billboard Hot 100 #1 singles by a solo artist (19), a female songwriter (18) and a female producer (15). Perhaps unsurprisingly. she is the highest-certified female artist in the States and 10th overall with 74 million units sold. Oh and she’s won 5 Grammys, 19 World Music Awards, 10 American Music Awards, 15 Billboard Music Awards and eight Guinness World Records.
So let’s celebrate one of the most commercially successful artists ever. Happy birthday, Mariah! May there be many many more!
