January is rather auspicious month in music history:
- John Paul Jones’ birthday was on the third,
- Michael Stipe‘s birthday was on the fourth
- David Bowie‘s and Elvis were born on the eighth
- Jimmy Page‘s and Robby Krieger‘s birthdays were on the ninth
- Donald Fagen’s birthday was on the tenth
- Zack de la Rocha and Raekwon’s birthdays were on the twelfth
- LL Cool J, Dave Grohl and Allen Toussaint all had birthdays on the fourteenth.
- Sade and Aaliyah were on the sixteenth.
- The Temptations‘ David Ruffin was on the eighteenth
I’m obsessed about music and to be honest, I dnd’t know that January 19 is a really busy day: As you saw in the past two posts Janis Joplin and Dolly Parton share birthdays today. And so does the great Robert Palmer, who I loved as a kid. Robert left us 18 years ago; but had he lived, he would turn 73 today.
Happy birthday, Robert! Happy birthday, wherever you are!
