We’ve managed to make it to June. I don’t know about you, but this year has been a brutal, fucked up slog. But it’s Pride Month — and there’s still art, music and small joys.

The legendary Kris Kristofferson was born on this day 89 years ago.
As a songwriter, he’s responsible for some of the most beloved and oft-covered songs of the past 60 years or so. He was also a member of The Highwaymen, the outlaw country supergroup that included Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash.
