Throwback: R.I.P. Aston “Family Man” Barrett

I was watching the NHL All Star Game when I learned that Ashton “Family Man” Barrett died.

Barrett played on some of the most beloved and important songs ever written and recorded — but he’s best known for being a member of Bob Marley‘s backing band The Wailers, and for co-producing Marley’s work throughout the bulk of his solo career. He was also a member of Lee “Scratch” Perry‘s house band The Upsetters among countless others.

I suspect that most people are familiar with his work with Marley — and because I’m a Marley fan, I wanted to pay tribute to his legendary work with the legend himself.

Rest in peace Family Man.
