February is a very busy month. It’s Black History Month, which I’ll continue to celebrate throughout the month. And there are of course, several important birthdays that coincide and will be celebrating, as well.
In terms of birthdays:
- Big Boi celebrated his 50th — yes, 50th y’all! — birthday on February 1
- Rick James was born 77 years ago on February 1
- Stan Getz was born on this day 98 years ago
- Graham Nash celebrates his 83rd birthday today
- Stone Temple Pilots‘ Robert DeLeo celebrates his 59th birthday today
There’s one last birthday today: LCD Soundsystem frontman and DFA Records founder James Murphy celebrates his 55th birthday today. Murphy is behind some of this century’s most eccentric yet biggest dance floor and arena friendly bangers.
