Throwback: Happy 74th Birthday, Stevie Nicks!

The past few days have been difficult, exhausting and rage-inducing, and for all the reasons that they should be. But music is what makes us human — and can help us heal.

This week has been yet another very busy week in music history:

  • Sun Ra Arkestra‘s legendary music director and multi-instrumentalist Marshall Allen turned 98 on the 25th.
  • Stevie Nicks turned 74 on the 26th.
  • The legendary Miles Davis was born 96 years ago on the 26th.
  • And tragically, we lost Depeche Mode‘s co-founder Andy “Fletch” Fletcher and Yes‘ Alan White.

Personally, I’m not a big Fleetwood Mac fan, but as I’ve gotten older I’ve become obsessed with Stevie Nicks. (And at some point, I referenced “Stand Back” dozens of times on this site and in other articles, too.) So let’s celebrate our beloved queen’s birthday, huh?

Happy birthday, Stevie! May there be many, many more!
