Throwback: R.I.P. Quincy Jones

We’re having some issues with our plumbing and they’re still doing some facade work, which rattled me awake. I needed to be up anyway: I had fallen asleep while working on an article that was due today. Y’all, it was a very long night.

So I quickly looked at my phone and learned that the legendary Quincy Jones died. He was 91. He lived a very long life, and his influence on music and culture has been massive. Jones has a hand on some of the century’s biggest, most beloved and oft-covered songs, including some of the most indelible pop songs ever written and recorded.

Long live Quincy Jones! The dude may be gone but his influence will be forever.
